Nabaztag
The first connected object
In 2005, the situation is serious: there’s no way to access information on the Internet without a computer.
Fortunately, one object is about to revolutionize the way we access services on the Internet.
It’s not a telephone, it’s a rabbit.
Selling 150,000 units worldwide, it has gathered a dynamic and enthusiastic community of users. An opera was even composed especially for it. It was said that there were at least 126 reasons to live with a rabbit, and tailor-made clothes were made by the community and by fashion designers.
TagTagTag
Having become a mere decorative object since the servers were shut down in 2010, it’s back thanks to a kit called TagTagTag, developed by its creators (including multiplié founder Olivier Mével), which brings the first connected object and pioneer of voice assistants back to life.
It’s an electronic board that replaces the old electronic board of the Nabaztag and Nabaztag:tag (the two original versions produced by Violet), bringing it back to life.
This kit has been the subject of two participatory funding campaigns in 2019 and 2021.Tutorials are available to explain how it works, as well as a video. You can also visit the dedicated forum. The sources and schematics for this project are available on Github.
These kits and resurrected Nabaztags are currently on sale in the store.
