Description

In June 2020, we carried out a survey to find out which “historic” feature we should develop, and RFID (now NFC) came out on top.

The best argument was that :

“Podcasts, web radios and traffic or email alerts are already offered on modern connected assistants (Google Home, Alexa, etc.) while RFID reading (Ztamps, Nanoztags, Flatnanoz, etc.) is still unique to our dear connected rabbits and are a real area to exploit!”

So we’ve designed an NFC card to enable first-generation Nabaztag owners to benefit from the new NFC tag functionalities (there were no RFID cards on the first Nabaztags), and Nabaztag:tag owners (the second generation, you follow?) to replace the current RFID card and read a wider range of NFC tag formats (Navigo card, for example), while still being compatible with Ztamps.

This card comes with 10 small self-adhesive pads with an NFC tag (to be stuck on like the Z:tamps of yesteryear). If you’d like to see how it’s installed, click here: https: //www.instructables.com/Nabaztag-Installer-La-Nouvelle-Carte-NFC/

To sum up:

  • If you have a Nabaztag: it allows him to smell objects (something he couldn’t do before).
  • If you have a Nabaztag:tag: you can of course keep the old card, but if you want to read a wider variety of NFC tags, this is what you need.

As usual, I’ll start manufacturing once I’ve reached a few hundred orders (probably by the end of July) and it takes about 6 to 8 weeks before you receive them. You can cancel, of course, if you get tired of waiting.
